Position: Executive Director

Reports to:  Executive Board

Duty Station: Kampala Coordination Office

Duties:  Reporting to the Board of Directors, the Executive Director (ED) has overall strategic and operational responsibility for PeerLink Initiative Uganda (PELI-U)’s staff, programs, expansion, and execution of its mission.

Leadership & Management:

  1. Responsible for leading in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors.
  2. Works with board and staff to ensure that the mission is fulfilled through programs, strategic planning and community outreach.
  3. Responsible for communicating effectively with the Board and providing, in a timely and accurate manner, all information necessary for the Board to function properly and to make informed decisions.
  4. Responsible for fiscal management that generally anticipates operating within the approved budget, ensures maximum resource utilization, and maintenance of the organization in a positive financial position.
  5. Ensure ongoing local programmatic excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising, communications, and systems; recommend timelines and resources needed to achieve the strategic goals
  6. Actively engage and energize PELI-U’s volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders
  7. Develop, maintain, and support a strong Board of Directors: serve as ex-officio of each committee, seek and build board involvement with strategic direction for both ongoing local operations as well as for the national rollout
  8. Oversees and implements appropriate resources to ensure that the operations of the organization are appropriate.
  9. Lead, coach, develop, and retain PELI-U’s high-performance senior management team Ensure effective systems to track scaling progress, and regularly evaluate program components, so as to measure successes that can be effectively communicated to the board, funders, and other constituents
  10. Responsible for the enhancement of PELI-U’s image by being active and visible in the community and by working closely with other professional, civic and private organizations.
  11. Responsible effective administration of PELI-Us operations.
  12. Responsible for the hiring and retention of competent, qualified staff.
  13. Responsible for signing all notes, agreements, and other instruments made and entered into and on behalf of the organization.
  14. Responsible for the fiscal integrity of PELI-U, to include submission to the Board of a proposed annual budget and financial statements, which accurately reflect the financial condition of the organization.

Fundraising & Communications:

  1. Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and regional expansion while simultaneously retiring building debt
  2. Deepen and refine all aspects of communications
  3. Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities
  4. Responsible for fundraising and developing other resources necessary to support’s mission.

2.  Natukunda Bridget

Position: Programmes Manager and Technical Team Leader

Reports to: The Executive Board through the Executive Director

Duty Station: Kampala Coordination Office

  1. The main functions include

Programme coordination, Administration and technical assistance on organizational programs and specific thematic areas and projects.

  1. Duties
  • Manage and facilitate day today program operations.
  • Monitoring and support to Project Coordinators.
  • Coordinate and report on the development and progress of the project activities, implementation, monitoring and evaluation.
  • Reporting and communication with donors / government agencies, NGOs and collaborative CBOs.
  • Resource mobilization for project activities
  • Facilitate the formation of the program partnership network, fundraising, lobbying and representation.
  • Plan and participate in program capacity needs assessment.
  • Coordinate organizational program strategic plan.
  • Establish a database for program stakeholders.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, bi-annual and annual program status reports for donors and the organization.
  • Organize and participate in partners programs training.
  • Prepare and develop work plans, budgets and monitor expenditure of the organization’s programs.
  • Carry out any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.

Qualifications:

She has a Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences and full time payroll staff.

3) Atuhaire Patience

Position: Accountant

Reports to: The Executive Board through the Executive Director.

Duty Station: Nyarushanje Field Office, Rukungiri district

Duties

  • Preparation, verification and classification of financial transactions in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations.
  • Collate financial information on budgets and determine aggregate expenditure
  • Oversee deposits and withdrawals of the organization
  • Bookkeeping, routine accounting, advice and such other duties as will be necessary for the organization’s operations.
  • Formulation, revision and maintenance of accounting procedures and ensuring adherence to them.
  • Oversee the production units and streamline the financial management of the units.
  • Preparation and production of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

She posses a Bachelors Degree in Commerce and is a part time payroll staff.

4) Namara Praise

Position: Administrative Assistant/ Front Desk Officer

Reports to: The Accountant and Programs Manager

Duty Station: Kampala Coordination Office

Duties

  • Takes record of products delivered, taken for sale and sold
  • Participate in proposal writing and activity budgeting
  • Prepare and submit monthly administrative requirements and submit them to the accountant / programs director
  • Coordinate and maintain organizational linkages both internal and external
  • Take minutes during staff meetings and ensure filing and dissemination of the same to the staff.
  • Follow up communication with field office.
  • Call for staff meetings in consultation with the Executive Director
  • Prepare monthly administrative reports in consultation with the accountant and the programs director
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

She has a Bachelors Degree in Industrial and Organizational Psychology. She is a full time volunteer.

5) Tumusiime Monic

Position: Project Coordinator

Reports to: The Programs Director

Duty Station: Nyarushanje Field Office, Rukungiri district

      Duties
  • Coordination and management of the organisational project in view of the project objectives
  • Preparation of the project work plans and reports
  • Supervision of the different departments under the project.
  • Monitor and evaluate progress of project performance against set standards and prepare timely, monthly, quarterly and annual reports according to the organisation’s projects. And where necessary, additional document outcomes and impacts arising from project implementation.
  • Establish and maintain credible and productive relationships with PELI-U partners at, Subcounty, district and national levels.
  • Assists in advocacy and resource mobilisation efforts with special focus on organisational programs
  • Maintain an information flow between the head office and field office as well as PELI-U and the beneficiaries
  • Monthly updates on project implementation as per the drawn activities and outcomes
  • Ensure constant collaboration between PELI-U and local authorities in the areas of operation
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications:

She has a Bachelor’s Degree of Arts in Development Studies and is a full time payroll staff.

6) Nyesigire Robert

      Position: Department Head (Tailoring Lead Trainer)

Reports to: The Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Nyarushanje Field Office

Duties

  • Oversee the work in the Tailoring department;
  • Offer technical advice/guidance to members of the department;
  • In-charge of training;
  • Offer technical advice/guidance to the tailoring production unit.
  • Report writing
  • Organize and conduct trainings in liaison with Project Coordinator
  • Develop tailoring training manuals
  • Develop departmental work plans
  • Supervise and follow-up trainees and organize meetings to share experiences and innovations;
  • Produce project activity reports and submit them to the Project coordinator monthly;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

He has a Certificate in tailoring and is a full time payroll staff.

6) Ruhangariyo Markison

Position: Department Head (Cookery, Baking & Housekeeping) Lead Trainer  

Reports to: The Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Nyarushanje Field Officer

Duties

  • Oversee the work in the Cookery and Food hygiene department;
  • Offer technical advice/guidance to members of the department;
  • In-charge of training;
  • Offer technical advice/guidance to the Cookery and Food hygiene production unit.
  • Report writing
  • Organize and conduct trainings in liaison with Project Coordinator
  • Develop Cookery Baking and Food Hygiene training manuals
  • Develop departmental work plans
  • Produce quality products
  • Keep good record of what is produced /products produced
  • Ensure the production of high standard products
  • Develop new products for sale in our shops
  • Control the ordering of ingredients and materials to ensure the budgeted costs of sales for production unit are met
  • Supervise and follow-up trainees and organize meetings to share experiences and innovations;
  • Produce project activity reports and submit them to the Project coordinator monthly;
  • Any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor

He has a Diploma in Catering and Hotel Management and is a full time payroll staff.

8. Twebaze Christine

Position: Administrative Assistant/Desk Officer

Reports to: Project Coordinator

      Location: Kahumiro Nyarushanje field office Rukungiri district.

      Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume receptionist duties, greet public and refer them to appropriate staff members, answer phones, route calls and take massages.
  • Assist staff with administrative duties.
  • Maintain front desk area, (keep it clean and free from clutter)
  • Type and process documents as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an inventory system.
  • Maintain and appreciate inter personal relationship with employees, peers and consumers.
  • Facilitate special event registration and execution.
  • Provide Sexual Reproductive Health education to the youth.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

She has a Diploma in Education and is a full time payroll staff.

9. Atuyambe Justus

Position: Library Coordinator

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Location: Kahumiro Nyarushanje field office Rukungiri district.

Duties:

  • Oversee library activities
  • Train library staff and community in library management
  • Set up rules of library use
  • Make inventory for library.
  • Oversee the secretarial work within the library
  • Set up security measures
  • Reporting on library activities to the Project Coordinator
  • Resource mobilisation for library
  • Dissemination information to the community regarding the library
  • Publicise library events
  • Put in place or design registration mechanism
  • Provide Sexual Reproductive Health education to the youth.

 

Qualifications

He has a Diploma in Education and is a full time payroll staff.

10. Mwesigye Martin

Position:  Assistant Librarian

Reports to: Project Coordination

Location: Kahumiro Nyarushanje field office Rukungiri district.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the library Coordinator in Library management
  • Monitor and guide library users
  • Register library users
  • Ensure cleanliness of the library
  • Ensure orderliness of the library
  • Manage Kigezi cultural section
  • Financial management
  • Organise cultural sessions/dialogues
  • Collect cultural art facts
  • Attend cultural events
  • Provide Sexual Reproductive Health education to the youth

Qualifications:

He has a Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education and is a full time payroll staff.

11. Akampurira Augustine and Owaruhanga Faith Mary

           Position: Tailoring Production Unit Staff

Reports to: Tailoring Unit Head

Duties:

  • Produce quality products
  • Keep good record of products produces
  • Ensure the production of high standard products
  • Develop new products for sale in our shops
  • Control the ordering of ingredients and materials to ensure the budgeted costs of sales for the production unit are met
  • Fitting the garment any marking any alterations.
  • Creating a design (either by adapting an existing pattern or developing a new design
  • Agreeing a style and fabric with the customer
  • Working out how long it will take and the cost of producing the garment.

Qualifications:

Both have a certificate in tailoring and are full time payroll staff.

12. Kobusinge Anita and Nsiimire Consolate

Position: Tailoring Production Unit Staff –

Reports to: Tailoring Unit Head

Duties:

  • Produce quality products
  • Keep good record of products produces
  • Ensure the production of high standard products
  • Develop new products for sale in our shops
  • Control the ordering of ingredients and materials to ensure the budgeted costs of sales for the production unit are met
  • Fitting the garment any marking any alterations.
  • Creating a design (either by adapting an existing pattern or developing a new design
  • Agreeing a style and fabric with the customer
  • Working out how long it will take and the cost of producing the garment.

Qualifications:

13. Magara Dismus and Mbabazi Emmanuel

Reports: Cookery unit head

Duties:

  • Assist and help preparation and production of products by company specifications and instructions in the time frame
  • Treat and process raw materials and ingredients (flour,oil,sugar,yeast,water)
  • Prepare different dough and mixtures according to production recipes under bakers supervision
  • Produce and apply decorations on bakery products under supervision
  • Keep good record of what is produced ,fill and maintain presentation stock
  • Stock and/or sell products
  • Help in the bakery or customer service when required
  • Ensure that the clients are served in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Get delivery date and ensure that documents comply with requests
  • Receive deliveries and verify that the delivered goods match weight and shapes mentioned in the catalogue
  • Assist and help in inventory taking
  • Provide services to meet a high level of customer satisfaction
  • Clean, maintain and make simple repairs to machinery and equipment used in bakery
  • Manage spoilage ,turnovers and inventory of stocks and goods
  • Plan promotions and strategies to generate growth in sales
  • Produce quality products and ensure the production of high standard products
  • Develop new products for sale in our shops
  • Control the ordering of ingredients and materials to ensure the budgeted costs of sales for production unit are met.

Qualifications

Duty Station: Kahumiro Nyarushanje field office Rukungiri district.

            Duties

  • Ensure maximum security at PELI-U Field office at all times
  • Ensure that library users do not enter with bags, jackets etc

 Qualifications:

They both have a Uganda Certificate of Education and are full time payroll staff.

16. Kyomuhangi Margaret

Position: Cleaner & Child Care Taker

Reports to: Project Coordinator

Duty Station: Kahumiro Nyarushanje field office Rukungiri district.

 

 

             Duties

  • Maintain general cleanliness and hygiene of the premises
  • Guide the children and care takers during their visit to the community library and empowerment center
  • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time

Qualifications:

She has a Primary Leaving Certificate and is a full time payroll staff.
